MEALS FOR THE MOMENT
This program is designed to provide nutritious meals to those individuals/families during times of need. These times
may arise when there is an illness to oneself or someone in the family, where injury or illness takes place preventing you from
providing this service to oneself/family, or death in the family.
During these times of need, cooking may become a burden to some, therefore community volunteers from the "Meals for the
Moment" program, would be pleased to provide you and/or your family with prepared nutritious meals to help you get through
the difficult time.
If this service is something you feel would benefit you or someone you know, please contact Rita Hasson, "Meals for the
Moment" Coordinator at 780-961-4117 or the Town Office at 780-961-3773. Please note that if your name is
forwarded to us by a concerned community member, we call for your permission to provide the service and that it is provided
in the strictest of confidence.
Anyone who enjoys cooking and would like to give back to the community may contact Rita or the Town Office as mentioned above, and we
will add you to our contact list for volunteer meal providers.
For generations, block parties have served as a fun and easy way to get to know your neighbours.
Organizing a Block Party, will foster friendships and promote safe and caring neighbourhoods.
Family & Community Support Services will assist residents with this fun and exciting venture by offering a “Block Party Kit” to help with the planning of your Block party. Gather a couple of neighbours, pick a date, follow the instructions in the "HOW TO" guide and invite everyone to join in! Be sure to register the date of your block party with the Town office at (780) 961-3773 to ensure availability of the Block Party Kit . Get ready to have some fun to help build a “Community with Unity”.
